Greetings all. The aft pitch trim cable on our Chieftain is getting kind of worn out and I'm having trouble finding the right cable. The IPC shows p/n 41734-78, but that is with no electric trim installed. The KAP200 diagram in the Piper IPC doesn't give part numbers for any of the cables. The install manual for the KAP200 shows p/n 071-1102-00 as the pitch trim cable for that install, but I ordered that through Merrill Field Instruments (special order, about 2 month lead time from Honeywell, of course) and what I got was some little thing like 6" long instead of the correct cable for this install. If it's remotely feasible I'd rather order the right parts, but it's looking like we'll end up fabricating. Anyone else run into this?

We've always used 41734-078 for this if I understand the question Availl has 21 in stock at this time

Interesting. I assumed that since the IPC doesn't show that cable going around an electric trim servo it wouldn't fit. I guess when we pull the cable we'll compare length and go from there.

I think the KAP 200 and KFC 200 are basically the same installation, and the KFC200 uses the standard aft cable 41734-078, The autopilot install kit contains the extension cable that is installed to give you enough cable to compensate for the cable necessary to wrap around the pitch trim servo capstan. The extension cable goes in the upper trim cable

OK, we gave in and replaced the cable prior to the annual. As you guys stated, the 41734-078 is the correct cable. Someone has been into our airplane at some point and remade the upper forward cable longer to take out the King extension cable, that's why I was so confused about what was going on in there. Now I'm understanding why nothing was making sense.
