Air conditioner change over

The AC compressor in my 1974 Chieftain failed.  I was wondering if anybody knew of an upgrade or mod to go from the R12 to R134 freon.  I am in the Midwest US and as you know the cabin is like a greenhouse with poor venting when in the sun.  I plan on calling Mike Jones Aviation today to see what they do on their upgraded Navajos.

Any comments appreciated.
