We have inspected the first of our fleet today. We will be making this detailed spar web check a 1200 hour limitation in our fleet.
As we all know - the PA31-350 doesn't quite look like the pics in the SDR Submittal for the PA31, but we were still able to inspect the identified problem areas with the following results:
Date: 08/19/13 N3582P S/N 31-8052103 AFTT: 37,249.7
All bolts in spar web joint found to be in good shape. No cracks found in Main Spar Web or in vicinity of Upper/Lower Spar Cap.
Interesting to Note: Though this plane is about 12 years younger than the problem aircraft, it had over twice the number of hours. Aircraft used heavily on gravel strips and in Dry Arctic Conditions.
