Plane out of annual 3 weeks ago where 2 cyl on right engine were replaced with new. Post annual 2 hr test flight went well. Friday one of partners went to fly and right engine would not develop power. He stated runup went well. Plane had come out of heated hangar 10 min before engine start and OAT was 14 deg F. Please see attached pix. I went out to hangar yesterday and only discrepancy I found without removing cowling was alternate air door spring was broken and door was open. I can understand this allowing unfiltered air in, but power should still have been normal. What is possible problem? Will be calling mnx shop tomorrow when they open.

There's a lot of things it could be. A couple months ago we had a similar problem and it was the manifold pressure line to the density controller was plugged.

Problem was gone after I replaced the alternate air door spring. Can't see how this could have been the cause, but I've had 3 good ground runups and then 3 flights with no issues. If it returns, I will definitely check that manifold pressure line to the density controller. Thanks klausnw.

Possibly, ice in the manifold line could have been a factor.
