Greetings all,
Just a quick note to introduce myself. Realized that I hadn't done that even though I've been on board here since the early days.
I'm the Chief Inspector at Warbelow's Air Ventures, Inc. We're running a fleet of 13 Chieftains ranging from 1976 year models to 1982. Highest time one currently has 36,800 + airframe hours. With the aging fleet, it is really important that we keep ourselves informed of anything unusual that crops up.
This board can and will be a valuable resource to the Piper PA31-350 Community. A big thanks to John C at FAA FSDO #1 for suggesting that we undertake such an adventure.
Have had experience with coordinating several projects with the FAA in Field Approvals, etc and we are currently working on getting approval to change the Manifold Pressure Setting for the Stall Warning System that will allow the Pilot to have an earlier warning that the gear hasn't been extended on approach.
I'll let you know when we get that one done. It's currently at the ACO in Anchorage, and we're expecting an answer soon.
Also working with Piper on getting the Low Fuel Annunciator System removed. I wrote a post about that one the other day.
I really want to encourage all of you to participate and share your gold mine of experience that you have accumulated over the years.
Sincerely,
Joe M Miller Warbelow's Air Ventures, Inc Fairbanks, Alaska
