Noticed the other day at high power (after take off) therefor high fuel flow, when I flicked the emergency pumps off there was no drop in fuel pressure on one side.
When reducing fuel flow, flicking the pump on gives a correspondingly larger and larger increase in fuel pressure.
Actual pressure at take off is at the lower end of the green, around 40psi from memory, glancing over that side.
This is with the Aux pumps ON
It is as though the engine driven pump is doing all the work, and the EMERG pump is just getting a free ride at high fuel flows.
Testing on the ground the EMERG pump puts out 40psi no flow as per the MM
Is this a failure mode anyone has experienced? Is it even a failure?
