Greetings - Friday we were finally granted an STC for a gear warning system for the PA31 series. It basically adjusts the existing warning horns (controlled by the throttle switches) up to a realistic range. You can also install a box that says 'check landing gear' over the headset when the horns activate. In the simplest mode there are only a few hours of labor cost adjusting the horns up. For our flight testing we had the local avionics shop install the voice portion and it took a day to a day-and-a-half. We had it wired through the audio panel. I am attaching the Install/ICA and AFMS for your review. If you would like a copy of the STC, Warbelows will provide it free-of-charge. We feel that overall its a great little STC and will hopefully make the PA-series just a bit more user friendly and safe. If interested please send me a mail and ill respond in fairly short order so we can get your information and send a packet out your way. dm@warbelows.com Thanks to all the folks on here for being a part of the board and, as always, feel free to contact us if you need anything - Tim Modified Gear Warning STCIf the link doesn't work for some reason please let me know as they are odd on this board sometime.
