We have been having more and more trouble in our area getting a Ferry Flight after hours, on holidays, etc so we took a day or two and made our own program. It has been approved for use - D084 and A004 (i believe) need to be modified but it fulfills all SAS Design Tool questions and is ready to go. Tim, What are some examples that the ferry flight would be necessary?
I could see using it to prevent overflying a prescribed inspection like a progressive or 100 hour. Most everything else is covered by the MEL isn't it?

We have used it in cases of the flaps being stuck up or down, Gear issues remotely where we flew back to base gear down,
Actually had a pickup in a village run into a wingtip and bend aileron a bit, etc
We also recently bought a bellied in plane- changed the props and flew back to Fairbanks prior to sudden stoppage removal of engines. (AD allows for that)
Basically any discrepancy not covered by MEL but that can be ‘safe for flight’
Make sense?

Yes, makes sense. There's been a couple paperwork mix ups over the years that required ferry permits. The aircraft I'm working with right now are VFR, no MEL, having this approval would come in handy.I'll bring it up with my PMI.
