Any of you balance your own props or know of a good professional shop?
We are restarted doing it and we have some questions on balancing of Hartzell run of the mill Navajo props.

I do it when I get a chance. Unfortunately my one guy that was good at it left so it's either me or just let em run. Typically we did at o/h prop install and half TBO.

Do you use the composite spinner bulkheads?
We typically add weight to The static weights on the right side and the ring gear holes on the left – is that where you do also?

We added them right to the bulkhead. I was told when I called TCB that you could do the balance weights on the composite bulkhead same as per typical Hartzell instructions.

Do your composite bulkheads have pre-existing holes?
Thought I read somewhere if commercial you couldn't drill holes in the composite ones

Not sure if it applies to you folks but the item on composite bulkheads I was thinking of was in Hartzell Standard Practices 202A, Volume 11, Page 2-12 (C) - Caution 1

Again, I wish I'd gotten it in writing, but when I contacted TCB they told me to just treat it the same as the Piper metal bulkhead re: balance weights.
