We replaced both our horizontal stab boots 3 years (2500 hours) ago, and they're already shredded from the sand kicked up by the props/main gear. 2 questions, what are your favorite boots to use back there (do any last longer than others?), and do you have any tips and tricks to keep the boots from getting munched?

We are using Goodrich fast boots and they have been working pretty good for us. Don't have much sand erosion here but we do take a fair amount of rocks from village runways, etc
Only think we use on the pneumatic is ice-x We do use a piece of tape to protect the prop boots (and heated windshield) from rock damage and that saves use tons

OK, I was already leaning toward the fastboot just due to the man-hour savings. They like to sand our runways until they look like a desert. We use the tape on prop boots too (3M 8560?).
