Interesting topic this one, I have seen actual data of a thermocouple'd exhaust turbine and the coolest it ever gets is about when the aircraft turns off the runway. From then on the temp graph starts creeping up and up, idling for 3 minutes just extends it further. From this can only assume that the real enemy of turbo longevity is quality of assembly and heat in operation.
What is the use of a forum without some controversy!
