There have been a few instances of aircraft having fatigue cracks in the Aft Fuselage Bulkhead at Station 332 where the Main Spars of the Horizontal Attach. We are working at getting some pics of the area - please let us know if anyone else finds this occurring - Attachments:

PA31-350 Field InspectionThat is a link to a Good Report on a PA31-350 Field Inspection where these cracks were found. Good also to note that Piper Service Bulletin #636A added a reinforcement to this area (Sta 317.75) on the earlier S/N aircraft.

We are starting to check these problem areas in our fleet - we will continue to post results in this thread as we do - the following are the items and example sign-offs (if good):
1- Perform visual inspection of FS317 bulkhead doubler -> Performed visual inspection of FS317 bulkhead doubler P/N 40682-010 and bulkhead in vicinity -no cracks or other defects noted at this time.
2- Perform visual inspection of FS332 bulkhead -> Performed visual inspection of FS332 bulkhead - no cracks or other defects noted at this time.
Once we have done the initial inspections of these areas, this check will be added as a focused inspection in our AAIP.
Note: We have a wreck we bought from someone else and there was a crack in the doubler and skin that was below - not sure if it was from accident or otherwise.
Note2: We have a sneaking suspicion that we will have to use a mix of visual, visual w/ borescope and dye pen on these - depending on condition, etc....
